This spark plug uses platinum on both working sides of the firing gap. The dual precious-metal design is intended to reduce electrode erosion caused by repeated electrical discharge while maintaining a stable firing surface over extended engine operation.
As the electrodes fire thousands of times during normal driving, gradual material loss can alter the shape and effective distance of the spark gap. Platinum provides strong resistance to this wear, helping control changes in electrode geometry and maintain more consistent ignition characteristics.
Stable Ignition Under Thermal and Electrical Load
The firing end of a spark plug works directly inside the combustion chamber, where it is exposed to rapid temperature changes, combustion pressure and repeated high-voltage discharge. These conditions place continuous stress on the electrodes, ceramic insulator and metal shell.
Controlling electrode wear is particularly important because an enlarged or irregular spark gap can increase the voltage demand placed on the ignition system. The double platinum configuration helps preserve the working surfaces so ignition behavior remains more predictable as operating cycles accumulate.
Precious-metal material alone does not determine compatibility. Heat range, spark gap, thread and seat dimensions, firing-end geometry and electrical configuration must correspond with the required engine specification. Selection should therefore follow the product reference shown on this page rather than appearance alone.
Purchasing Details for Bulk Orders
For distributors, importers and private-label buyers, large-volume spark plug purchasing requires more than confirming the part number. Batch-to-batch consistency in electrode position, firing gap and dimensional finishing should also be considered when evaluating supply.
For OEM or volume orders, buyers can submit the required quantity together with packaging, labeling and specification requirements for confirmation before production. This helps establish a clearer purchasing standard for repeat orders and reduces specification differences between batches.
